April 10 - Samantha's Party

Samantha threw ANOTHER party to celebrate the end of the semester.

And she threw us dares to kiss RANDOM sims around.

And, well, you can guess what happened. My brother and my best friend just happened to RANDOMLY find each other.

For my brother's part, he looked like a deer caught in headlights.

And the paparazzi just HAPPENED to catch it all on camera.

You have to imagine my reaction at this point. I was about ready to kick both of them in the rear. I was so upset. How could two of the people I cared about the most in the world do this?

I confronted them separately.

"What were you doing?" I asked.
"I -- she --"
"AJ, you better be careful. This is a dangerous game! Somebody is going to get hurt, badly. Probably all four of you."
"I -- she --"
"I can't believe you didn't see this sooner."
"I didn't see what?"
"That you and Kay are absolutely perfect for each other."
"But she's your best friend."
"So? What does that have to do with it?"

"You need to figure out what you want. And soon. You and Kay and Samantha and Kyle have to sort this out quickly or you'll end up like Uncle Bassy."
AJ made a face at me. "Uncle Bassy?"
"You don't remember what happened with him? When Uncle Bassy was about your age, he was dating two girls. He dated one girl in high school and there was another girl he dated when he moved to Bridgeport, if I remember the story right. He never told either of the girls about each other, and he ended up losing them both. He met someone else and now he's in court fighting her trying to get custody of his daughter. Or Grandma and Grandpa, they got divorced cause Grandma found out Grandpa had an affair with her best friend and about a dozen other women. Trust me, AJ, you do not want to end up like them."

I confronted my best friend at the bowling alley.

"You've been after my brother since you were a teenager. Just what do you see in him? What do you want from him?"
Kay took awhile to respond. "He's handsome, he's quiet, he's sensitive -- he's been through hell --"
"Lots of guys could be quiet and sensitive, Kay."
"But lots of guys aren't your brother."
"True."
"He's smart, you could tell he works out so he's got a nice body, he's got four sisters and a strong mother so he's likely to treat a woman well."
I sighed. "That's true, too."
"Sage, I like him, okay? I don't have to have a reason!"
I sighed.
"Sage -- Sage, I love him. There, I said it. I love him. "

I have to admit I was blindsided by Kay's confession. The thought of AJ dating always had me a little uncomfortable anyway, whether it's Kay, Samantha, Ashley, Cheri, or any of the girls at University or anywhere. Even if Kay is my best friend and I'm starting to like Samantha, too. I just wish this crazy situation didn't have to happen. I wish they'd make up their minds and figure it all out.
