January 21

Hiya, it's me, Sage again.

We're back in the Valley for a little while. Yeah, my grandparents' house is really grand. It's huge and old and has lots of nooks and crannies. It's almost a bit spooky at times.

AJ went to Hidden Springs for a couple days to help out with the blizzard. The snow finally stopped falling long enuf to let military vehicles and other aid get in there. It's really bad, I've never seen it like that before. Mom and Dad took him to the airport.

I watched out of the window as I waved goodbye to them.

Meanwhile, while they were gone, we went to the Fall Festival. Who did we see there but Grandpa, who it turns out had scheduled a special performance there!
Most people, their grandparents are either dead or settled down in rocking chairs. Not mine! When I was telling this to Kay, she was, like, "Your grandpa sounds incredible!"
I wouldn't trade him, though.

Sky insisted on getting her face painted :)

And Sierra and I raked the back yard. Oh, I had to promise Sierra to go trick or treating to make her do it. And I had to get her tickets to see the Llamas play. But hey, anything to get the work done.

So the next night we set out on our candy gathering journey. We had to wait for Sky cause it took her forever to get her costume on. After much deliberation I threw on an old cheerleader outfit Grandma had in her closet. To my surprise it fit perfectly.

When Sky finally joined us, I asked if everyone was ready. They nodded.

When we got to the first house, which happened to be the Landgraab mansion, a girl about my age and height answered the door. I'm told she's one of Malcolm Landgraab III's triplet daughters.

"May I help you?" she asked, a little bewildered.
Taking a deep breath I held out the pumpkin-shaped jar, and she obliged by putting some things in it.
