January 29

"Sage, you're pretty quiet," Mom said as we rode from the Thomas School of Art back to her place off-campus.
"I got a lot on my mind."
"Is it about Kyle?"
How in the heck did she know? I still have yet to figure out what to tell him.
On the one end, I really and truly do like him. On the other, Kay DID meet him first and I really don't want to hurt her -- any more than she's already been hurt by the whole situation with AJ.

Speaking of which, he accepted a date with a girl called Sharon Dorsey. He had to meet her in the middle of a park, at night, in a driving rainstorm. Why? Because Sharon is different from other girls. Because she happens to be a plant sim.

Poor AJ came in dripping wet, with a hacking cough. "How was your date, AJ?" Mom asked while she was doing lesson plans. He didn't say anything as he went straight to his room and went to bed. Good deal his class wasn't till 4 pm.

I think Mom is getting the hang of this professor thing. I have to admit it's a sweet gig. She gets free on-campus university housing, teaching one or two classes a semester, once or twice a week. Did I mention how much the school is paying her???

The rest of the time, she's working on her latest book (yes she's writing another, I found that out pretty much by accident) ...

And she's even taken up painting again. I wish I knew that side of her more, seriously.

And the three of us started cramming for finals (yes my FINAL finals, after this I'm done -- well, till I return to finish my environmental science courses). Finals were pretty much the only thing we talked about, we left the personal stuff out. I think it hurts too much.
