April 3

The next evening after classes we went to a bonfire party. Someone put fireworks in the bonfire that made it sparkle, this was after someone else had sprinkled a test tube in it to make everyone stink.

AJ went dumpster diving and found a gem and a couple of other things, I've forgotten, lol.

After we came back from the party, Kay and I did some last minute cramming. She's thinking about either dropping out or changing her major as she's having some problems with her physical education class.

That chick Sophie from orientation kept watching me and followed me to the bowling alley where we played kicky bag.

"So, your brother goes to school here, right?"
"Yeah," I said, "you might know him. His name's AJ Cheesman."
"Oh, that's right. Brown hair?"
"Yeah, that's him."
"He's in my information tech class."
"Cool."

My kicky bag balancing skills need work, lol.

In figure drawing class today Dr. Noetal drew what looked like an anime fairy. I certainly did not expect that. But she insisted that she wants us skilled in all styles of art.

Then she stopped me after class. "Sage, is it?"
"Yeah?"
"According to your admissions portfolio, you come from an artistic family."
I nodded.
"Your grandparents were in the orchestra, your uncle is an actor and musician, your great-aunt was a novelist, and your mom -- I'm in the middle of reading your mother's latest book, it is absolutely fascinating. Even though it's a historical piece it reads like a novel."
I smiled. "I see."

"You know, Sage, your paintings could use less structure and more color and light. Have you tried wall art? It's less restricting than traditional easel art."
"No, not really."
"I think you should try it. It could be liberating for you."
